About Nisa Workshop

Nisa is an ethical underwear brand and social enterprise who employ women from refugee and migrant backgrounds. They create all of their organic cotton garments from their sunny workshop in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Unfortunately in July 2023, Nisa had to close their doors permanently due to the difficulties in the economic climate. As our very first Aye Studios client, they will always have a special place in our hearts.

Update: Workers raising $80k to save ethical fashion brand Nisa!

Nisa Workshops Impact:

Since their inception in 2017, Nisa has employed 29 women on their journey towards a bright career in Aotearoa.

A year after arriving in Aotearoa, less than a fifth of people from refugee and migrant backgrounds are employed. After three years, only a quarter of women from refugee backgrounds find employment. Lack of employment is an obstacle to feeling truly valued and integrated into a community.

• $21,486 of social value created for each Nisa employee

• $3 of social value created for every $1 invested into Nisa

• $429,369 of social value created for Nisa's employees since 2019

Our Mahi & Services:

We provided Nisa with paid social media services on a monthly retainer. We were responsible for the paid media strategy, copy, design, execution and measurement of all of their paid social campaigns.

With a small monthly spend of up to $3K, we managed to consistently deliver above industry benchmarks at both the top and bottom of the funnel.

"Aye Studios have been incredibly easy to work with, and take a ‘no fuss’ attitude towards everything. They put a lot of thought and creativity into their work, and are always coming up with new ideas.”

— Elisha Watson, Founder Nisa Workshop.
